Angela roy
Angela is the owner/operator of Serendipity Early Years Centre. Serendipity was in operation for nine years downtown Kelowna, and just recently moved to Lake Country BC in her home. Angela has been in the Early Childhood Education field for just over 22 years, graduating from the Early Childhood Education Program at Okanagan College in 2001. From there she worked in a variety of child care centres: 3-5 group day care, infant and toddler centre, preschool, Aboriginal Preschool, multi-age child care, family child care and StrongStart.
Angela is a wife and a mother to two children, and she is also a Grandma to two amazing grandchildren.
Outside of preschool, you can find her spending time with her family or working on her hobbies, which include sewing, scrapbooking, crafting, reading, baking and gardening.
Just recently Angela has started presenting professional development training workshops to Educators on Outdoor Play, highlighting the amazing benefits of outdoor play not only for children, however, Educators and parents too! She has also started publishing articles in the Play Outdoors Magazine reflecting on the value of outdoor play, outdoor activities, the importance of documentation in outdoor play and photos of preschool children at Serendipity engaging in outdoor play.
